About us

HĀ comes from the Jo-ha-kyū; a concept widely found in japanese arts such as poetry, music, dance, theatre and martial arts. Translated, it means story development. The story of our relationship with the natural world is currently at that stage, and we want to ensure it develops into a harmonious ending.

HĀ is a production collective created and managed by young people eager for adventure and passionate about nature. Having wandered through more than eighty countries inspirations are motley. From the far East to the West, from the frigid North to the Cape of Good Hope; from Jacques Cousteau to Werner Herzog, from Cizia Zykë to Sylvain Tesson, from Mike Horn to David Attenborough.

Our mission is to show that there can be alternate ways of living, closer to nature, closer to our own essence, closer to true riches. Dostoyevski says in The Idiot: “Beauty will save the world”.

HĀ shares stories that convey this beauty, invoke mystery, and inspire people to respect our natural world. Ultimately our stories aspire to act as a catalyst for change.
